NASA reentry prototypes

NASA reentry prototypes were a series of atmosphere reentry prototypes built my NASA and experimented in a series of top secret projects between the 1940's and 1960's. These prototypes were capable of self propulsion and guided landings. They were deployed by a series of high altitude balloons of the USAF from an altitude of 170.000 feet.
