- Italy
- 2 week coach tour around northern Italy - "It's Tuesday, it must be Florence!" - but at least we got a full day in Rome
- Naples - Pompeii, Herculaneum, Baiae, Misenum, Pozzuoli, Naples National Archaeological Museum, Stabiae, Beneventum, Capua ... - the Bay of Naples classical full monteius
- Rome - the 2 week British School at Rome Summer School - brilliant, could really do the city at depth, and finally got round to the Vatican Museums
- Paris - weekend, 21st birthday - spent most of the time in the Louvre, of course
- Bruges
- Sluis - my only foot on Dutch soil so far

- Rome or Italy again, particularly Paestum or Sicily
- Germany and Spain
- The Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg
- The Met and Getty museums
- Scotland (have got to Berwick upon Tweed twice, but never actually north of the border) and Ireland
- Cornwall, and the rest of south west England
- Greece and Turkey - well, any modern country that was in the Roman Empire, really :-)
