Neil Clement (born October 3, 1978 in Reading, Berkshire) is an English professional football player whose customary position is in defence. He has been known as a set piece specialist.
Clement started his career at Chelsea, making his only appearance in 1996. Unable to gain selection, he was loaned out during 1998-99 to Reading and Preston. The following season he was loaned out to Brentford, and finally to West Bromwich Albion, where his performances in the club's successful attempt to avoid relegation from Division One earned him a permanent transfer. Clement has thus far made over 250 appearances for Albion, which (as of June 2006) is more than any other Albion player this century. He is known for his versatility, and has played in several different positions for the Midlands-based team. He is the son of Dave Clement, the former QPR and England full-back of the 1970s.
