Neil Tony D'Souza is a 28 year old Scorpio typical of the characteristics of his star sign. Raised up primarily in Muscat, Oman and Goa, India, he loves to think he has a bit of the Portuguese tradition in him. (You see, Goa was a Portuguese settlement and as a result they had a lot of influence on the local people, the Goans.) Hopefully, one day he will visit Portugal and maybe join some friends in a traditional fado.
Early childhood was spent close to his parents, as a shy child. Secondary school was a new experience at Don Bosco's, Panjim, Goa. Lived in the village at that time and spent an awful lot of time traveling to and from school. Life in the village is very simple, he says. College was a different ball game. St. Xavier's was the cleanest college in the area, both at its appearance and at the crowd that came there. His friends included fourteen cool guys and gals, most of who he has lost touch with completely. Left with fond memories, he visits the area every time he goes on vacation and reminisces the good ol' days.
After a brief stint at jobs in Goa and Bombay, Neil is now back in Muscat, enjoying the multicultural workplace. The publishing house, Apex Press and Publishing, boasts at being the best in the business. Fortunately, Neil shares the enthusiasm. The Apex Quality and Experience, it is called. He is employed as IT Manager and currently handles 80 odd Macintoshes, some PCs, and a few headaches.
After work he prefers to laze around with a DVD, listen to some fresh tracks on the Top 40, join friends for a cocktail at Trader Vic's, read the latest edition of PC Magazine or maybe even cook up a recipe. Encouraged by the rave reviews his friends are giving, he is contemplating on compiling a website entitled, Bachelor Cooking!, currently a work in progress.
The future will get better and better, he says. For now he is just enjoying the calming lifestyle of Oman, learning a few words in Arabic and making the best of the sun, surf and sand.
