New York State Route 44A is a short loop route from U.S. Route 44 in central Dutchess County. Its main purpose is to allow traffic that either wishes to or must detour around the village of Millbrook to do so, but it also provides access to one of the village's attractions, the Mary Flagler Cary Arboretum.
The route is duplexed with U.S. Route 44 Truck along its entire length.
