Nir Akiva

Nir Akiva (in Hebrew ניר עקיבא) is an Israeli moshav/settlement, located in the North-Western Negev, northeastward Netivot and southward Nir Moshe. The moshav is associated with Moshav Movement. Nir Akiva is named after Akiva Etinger who was a chief of the Settlement Department in the Jewish Agency for Israel. Total square of the settlement is about 1,000 dunams. Current amount of residents: 210 (2005).
Amir Peretz was in the late 1970s a member of the moshav.
