It would nice for this to be expanded with a history section. I'm not familiar with this topic though. Could anyone do this? Falphin 03:19, 27 May 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, there is an article on history of the administrative division of Russia. While right now it only covers a portion of the 18th century, I do intend to add more. History of oblasts will be there eventually (I have most of the information, but it needs to be summarized, structured, and cross-verified, which is very time-consuming).
