Oflag VIII-E Johannisbrunn

Oflag VIII-E Johannisbrunn was a World War II German ] POW camp for Allied generals during World War II. It was located in the spa town of Janske Koupele in the Czechoslovakian part of Silesia. The camp was built in October 1940 to house approximately 50 Allied generals and their aides. Among those imprisoned were officers from Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.
April 27, 1942, all Polish generals were separated from their comrades and transferred to other camps, mostly to Oflag VII-A Murnau.
