[edit] Bio
Oh My God is a three-member art-rock band from Chicago, Illinois that formed in early 1999. Their lineup is comprised of Billy O'Neill (vocals/bass), Iguana (organ/vocals) and Bish (drums/vocals). Oh My God is currently signed to Novo Records.
The band has performed several times at the Michigan venue Flint Local 432 and has built a considerable fan base from their energetic performances and frontman Billy O’Neill’s on-stage personality.
Their sound is unique because they have foregone using guitars in favor of using an organ played through a Leslie speaker cabinet with generous amounts of distortion. This has allowed them to create a simultaneously melodic and dissonant base for their music. The band has released four albums and one EP, and their fifth full-length album Fools Want Noise is due out Fall 2006.
The band was featured in a three-minute commercial for Coca-Cola’s “Make it Real” campaign. The segment aired during MTV’s Making the Band on May 5, 2005 at 10:33 EST. This segment generated a lot of controversy among some members of Oh My God’s fan base as to whether or not they were "selling out" by receiving a small amount of mainstream exposure.
Billy O’Neill and Iguana are both involved in side projects. O’Neill’s side project is with Dan Wean from the band Easy Tiger and is appropriately called O’Neill & Wean. Iguana’s side project is called Them vs. Them.
