I'm taking out the reference to jay adams. this is about the song not him.
Can anyone verify the caretaker story? I always thought it was pretty clear that the narrator is addressing his father.
On a youtube video, Neil Young claims that he wrote this song for a squatter that was living on his farm, however, on the DVD of his Prarie Wind tour, he claims that this song is about the man that he bought his ranch off.
