- David Oppenheim. Clarinetist who played with Pablo Casals, the Budapest Quartet, Igor Stravinsky, Aaron Copland, and Leonard Bernstein, who dedicated his clarinet sonata to Oppenheim. Later Oppenheim became the executive director of the classical division at Columbia Records, and went on to make documentaries at CBS and PBS, about Casals, Stravinsky and one called Inside Pop, among others. In 1968 he became the Dean of the School of the Arts at NYU, later known as the Tisch School of the Arts. He was married three times: first to Judy Holliday, the actress, with whom he had his first child, Jonathan. He then married Ellen Adler, the daughter of Stella Adler, and had two children, Sara and Tommy. Later he married the film maker Pat Jaffe.
