Hi!
I'm a 28-year-old living in Perth, Australia, with my major interests being travel, music and politics.
For the first year of my time on Wikipedia, I was known as Orderinchaos78.
I am pitch-perfect, sing and play guitar. I tend towards alternative rock but am by no means limited - my favourite bands include Tool, The Tea Party, Oceansize, Porcupine Tree, dredg, Faith No More, Massive Attack, Stabbing Westward, Muse, I Mother Earth, Sense Field, Chicago and numerous others.
[edit] Travel
I have travelled all over southern Australia, across Canada, Eastern Europe and Turkey, and have a strong appreciation for different cultures and ideas. My time spent in Canada had a big effect on me - it's amazing how much at home I felt in a country that was not my own almost from the day I landed. I was born in Northern Ireland.
[edit] Politics
I have a big interest in psephology (the study of how people vote) and in progressive policies, and firmly believe in the Internet as a growing force in keeping representative democracy accountable. My current projects include trying to build an electoral map of Australia, Canada and NZ, and figuring out an electoral system which would work best in Australia's circumstances. On 11 March 2006, I ran as an independent candidate in the Victoria Park by-election in the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. I contribute to numerous forums.
[edit] Wiki Contributions
My biggest interest in Wikipedia is resolving the woeful amount of information about Western Australia. My personal goal is to contribute, and to actively encourage others to contribute, towards building a comprehensive guide to the suburbs and towns which make up Australia. I've gotten involved in all sorts of rabbit trails - most recently standardising infoboxes across all towns and suburbs and disambiguating Local Government Areas from towns and suburbs of the same name, doing some minor development work on templates, and even writing or significantly adding to a few road articles. I'm also keen to take more photos and share more of my (well-sourced, of course :)) political and electoral knowledge about WA in particular and Australia more generally. I may also look into doing a history of the telephone system and numbering in Australia, something I've always for some reason been interested in - and which isn't presently anywhere online.

[edit] Userboxes
I am using part of my user space to host political and other userboxes which have been removed from Wiki template space. These can be found here. If you are aware of any others that have been removed, and can find source code for them, I'll see if I can link them.
