Padriag Amond joined for Shamrock Rovers in 2003 and steadly progressed through the schoolboy ranks of the club. He was promoted to the senior squad for the 2006 season. He made his debut coming on as a sub against Athlone Town F.C. on the 16th March 2006. Amond made only two substitue appearnces and scored his only goal against Finn Harps in September 2006. Amond is also a talented hurler and has represented his native county of Carlow at minor level reaching the Leinster Final at G.A.A. headquarters Croke Park in 2006. In recognition of his sporting achievements Padraig was awarded the Carlow Sportsperson of the Year Award for soccer. He joined Kildare County F.C. on season long loan for the 2007 season.
