For the most part I listen to thrash, black/thrash, speed metal, and little bit of groove metal (mainly the originators) such as

- Dark Angel
- Pantera
- Exciter
- Sepultura
- Exhorder
- Machine Head
- Usurper
- Sabbat
- Bulldozer
- Destruction
- Overkill
- Witchmaster
- Iron Angel
, but can appreciate any riff-oriented genre. I used to be an avid black metal fan (for various years actually), but decided to abandon the genre because of the lack of actual riffs (metalness). Black/thrash still rules though :P.
