Category talk:People by former religion

Should we have other former lists? For example should we have a List of former adherents of Judaism, List of former Zoroastrians, or List of former members of Hindu organizations? Or would that be too explosive and inviting antisemitism?--T. Anthony 10:46, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Former Jews?
Where is the category for former Jews (Category:Former Jews)? We have similar categories for the other major religions...so where is the category for the former Jews? --152.15.102.43 20:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- "Jewish" is also an ethnic and ancestry designation so there are no "former Jews." Just as there are no "Former Kurds" or "Former Basque." Still there are "Former adherents of Judaism", for lack of a shorter phrase, so I'd toyed with the idea of creating a category based on that. I decided against it though because feared it'd be unhelpful and be seen as Anti-Semitic. Well that and I no longer edit here. (Although I may return, but I doubt it)--T. [edit] New Categories to Consider Creating...
I think that a couple of new categories would greatly enhance this Category:People by former religion -- these include Category:Apostates and/or Category:Excommunicants. Both are very similar but there are definite differences. Is anyone up for creating them? --152.15.102.43 20:38, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've just found that we have Category:Heretics -- this is similar to the other categories that I've proposed to create, but there are definite differences between heretics, apostates, and/or excommunicants. Or do you all think that "Category:Heretics" encapsulates all of the above categories/people and thus there is no need to create these other categories? --152.15.102.43 20:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
