Peter Hess

Peter Hess, born: 10 September 1779 in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. died: 9 August 1855 in Barton township, Canada (present day Hamilton, Ontario). Buried in Hamilton Cemetery. Farmer, landowner. [1]
Came to Canada with his father Michael Hess in 1789. Early 1800s acquired land in Hamilton, west of present day Bay Street to Queen Street, stretching from Aberdeen Street almost to the Bay.

Peter and Hess Streets in the city of Hamilton, Ontario named after him as well as Caroline Street named after one of his daughters. [1]
