Petru Dugulescu

Petru Dugulescu (born November 18, 1945) is a Romanian Christian pastor, poet, and a politician. He played an important role in the 1989 Romanian Revolution .Petru Dugulescu was elected in the Romanian parliament from 1992 to 2000. Prior to that he was a pastor during the communist regime of Romania and under persecution of secret police(securitate), (that ended in 1989 with the revolution) and he was often harassed and persecuted because of his religion[citation needed]. His autobiography, "They scheduled my death" ,in english under the title "Repenters" , talks about the persecution of the communist regime on Christians, and the ways the secret police tried to assassinate him.He is the founder and president of Charity Foundation Jesus the Hope of Romania and Onesimus Brothers House for street children,in Timisoara.Since 1990 is invited every year by the USA presidents at National Prayer Breakfast.He is well known by many of US politicians ,senators and congresmans as a man who fight for his country (Romania) and for the needy people.
