[edit] Merge
Maybe this page could be moved into the Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games page? -megamidget
I agree this article would be more encyclopedic if it was merged. Marcusmax 17:31, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
I also agree that this sould be merged with above article.
I would probably agree with the above users that this page should be merged with the Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games article if it, itself, were actually thorough. You may have noticed that Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games contains only RBY glitches, so until that article begins getting second generation and up glitches added to it, I think this page should be left alone. - The M.P. 20:35, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I agree with the merge. The Notable Glitches article now mentions the Berry Glitch in third gen and a bug in 4th gen, so it's no longer RBY exclusive. I've also mentioned the Pomeg glitch (3rd gen) as well. Tiakalla 03:45, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- That's not grounds for merging this article. True, Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games now has some glitches from the 3rd generation, but those are only a few of many. Besides, think about the name of Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games. I don't know about you, but at least I know that the Pokémon cloning glitches are among the most well-known glitches along with the Missingno. glitch. I don't see a thing about about Pokémon cloning in Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games - and trust me, if Pokémon cloning is merged, chances are, no information whatsoever from it will be added. I could see merging or deleting this article if Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games would get some information about Pokémon cloning, but not under any other circumstances. -- The M.P. 22:57, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I don't think it's the *only* reason; I was responding to the complaint of the glitches page being RBY-only. The problem with including the glitches is that I'm having trouble finding reliable sources. It's not because no one wants it on the page, just that we're having trouble sourcing it. Feel free to come help us out over on that talk page. :) Tiakalla 23:47, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
This Trick is one of 2 that i know for the entire second generation of pokemon gamboy games, i'm working on the other one but trying to get this article verified before i do the other. -Lucasthelefty
you know, this article mentions the glitch being in the other games, but only talks about the emerald version of using the glitch.
and also merging this with the other glitches(notable glitches in the pokemon games) is a good idea. very good idea indeed.(besides, it makes sense, doesnt it?)-pinkcat 01:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion
Delete. -- ~PinkDeoxys~ 16:32, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I don't think this page should be deleted, it might not be the best web page on the net but people can always improve it and it still gets the basic message accross to people who are willing to learn the trick. the video at the bottom in pokemon gold showing how to do the trick i've had on google video and even though i had the directions on the web page people still emailed me and asked me how to do this trick so instead of trying to explain it to every person who emails me i can just tell them to look up pokemon cloning in Wiki to find out, thats why i want to keep this page going. i know that the first grading of my page is still on the site, i've cleaned it up since then and if you want to regrade it that would be great, its 10x better then the first one was, i used a whole bunch of html but apparently wiki dosen't like or use html, the one thing i will admit though is that the page is very unorthodox but that also can be worked on.
- Please see Wikipedia: What Wikipedia is not, specifically, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of tutorials, instruction manuals, etc, etc. --Signed and Sealed, JJJJust (T C) 09:02, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm just going to go ahead and say that this page should not be deleted - certainly edited until it contains more useful information, but not deleted. The reason? There aren't many good articles about glitches in the Pokémon series. I personally consider the article Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games to be unthorough and incomplete considering its title. Now on to the other users' reasons for this article's deletion. PinkDeoxys did not give a reason for deletion, though I suspect it's because of this article's lack of information. Next, JJJJust gave an invalid reason for deletion by saying, "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of tutorials, instruction manuals, etc, etc." That is true, but this article is not a violation of the rule. I'll give the reason. This article does not instruct the reader on HOW to create the glitches, just merely what they are and what games they appear in. That counters both of the accusations in that sentence. I suggest that if this article doesn't get some good information, delete it. If it does, keep it. - The M.P. 20:56, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind about my above edit. This article doesn't even use proper grammar, much less is it written like an encyclopedia article. Even I have to say that the information in this article looks more like it was meant to be a guide to Pokémon cloning rather than being informative about it, in general -- just what it is and how it works while still remaining neutral, of course. Considering the problems with the article, itself, I could care less about the sources. -- The M.P. 16:37, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- The lack of sources, that is. -- The M.P. 16:39, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merging to Pokémon Gold and Silver
I have merged details from here to the main Gold and Silver section of the article about glitches. Is this article now okay to redirect? --FlyingPenguins 03:02, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
No, don't move it to that page. The glitch also refers to Pokemon Emerald, so we should either move it to Notable glitches in the Pokémon video games or also put some info in Pokemon Emerald.
