Port Talbot Parkway railway station is a railway station in Port Talbot, South Wales. The station is located at street level near Station Road in Port Talbot town centre.
While it bears the title Parkway, it is not a Parkway station per se. There were originally two stations near to the current site, one of which was Port Talbot Town, which was on a route diverging from the main line. Parkway was situated near the site of the divergence to allow services from London and Cardiff to West Wales to stop. The current location is in the town centre, near the Aberafan shopping centre and the local bus station.
[edit] Train services
Port Talbot Parkway is a major stop on the South Wales Main Line. It is frequently served by the First Great Western InterCity Swansea-London express trains; and the Arriva Trains Wales Swanline Swansea-Cardiff trains. The occasional Arriva Trains Wales Swansea-Manchester train, via the Welsh Marches Line, also calls at this station.
