Prey was a short-lived science-fiction TV series that aired for one season (13 episodes) in 1998 on ABC in the United States. It starred Debra Messing (Will & Grace) as Dr. Sloan Parker, Adam Storke as Tom Daniels, Larry Drake as Dr. Walter Attwood, Frankie Faison as Ray Peterson, and Vincent Ventresca as Dr. Ed Tate.
The series follows the main character, Dr. Sloan Parker, a young bioanthropologist, as she tries to cope with the murder of her friend and mentor, Dr. Ann Coulter, a researcher at Whitney University in Southern California. Coulter believed that global warming caused a new species, distinct and many ways superior to humans, to develop. This young new species, which came to be known as homo dominant, differs from homo sapiens in many ways except for its desire to be the dominate species on the planet.
