Talk:Prime brokerage
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have tried to write a basic survey on definition and origin of the pb business. All comments and corrections welcome...
[edit] you did a good job
This summary is really good. I wonder why the site says it needs to be cleaned up. Is it just for style?
[edit] dont know why they wanted it cleaned up.
i tried to reduce the verbosity without reducing the content, except for the equilend comment, which i thought was misplaced. i hopw i havent offended someone by striking it!
i would argue (with whoever made the equilend insert) that although prime brokers are intermediaries, their business model is not particularly threatened these days. and i dont see equilend as a threat to prime brokers... it's 1/2 owned by them!
[edit] whoever added all those brokers..
those are "clearing brokers" not "prime brokers". and goldman sachs doesnt market its pb under spear anymore, and ubs long ago ditched the paine weber name. fidelity is new to the market.
