Protozoal merogony
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An asexual reproductive process of protozoa also known as merogony or schizogony. A trophozoite increases in size while its nucleus and other organelles divide repeatedly before cytokinesis. During this process the organism is known as a schizont. The schizont ruptures releasing merozoites.
