In Río Hondo you can find the village of Llano Verde. Llano Verde has an orphanage and an elderly home. Carlos Vargas is the visionary missionary that was born in this town and has since gone back and established evangelical missions including support of an orphanage, elderly home, hospital, school, and mission home for traveling guest teams
Rio Hondo, rocky waters, is known for its crystal clear river.
