[edit] Est Trainer
As of August 1973, McNamara was an Est Trainer[2] within Werner Erhard's Erhard Seminars Training :
Not too long ago I was exiting the main terminal at Dulles Airport when I spotted a familiar face: "Randy McNamara?" I exclaimed. He had been one of my original est trainers. "November '75, Boston," I told him, by way of identifying myself. After a few remarks back and forth, I said, "Well, it was a great weekend you put on, twenty years ago." and in true est trainer form, he instantly got to the point...I remember well Randy McNamara's dramatic explanation of what we were to expect when we left the est training: the possibility of believing we'd lost it and that things were worse than ever and everything was falling apart and the training hadn't worked[3].
[edit] Appears in Documentary
In 2006, McNamara appeared alongside Landmark Forum Leader Laurel Scheaf and Werner Erhard in the Robyn Symon documentary: Transformation: The Life and Legacy of Werner Erhard.
In the trailer to the film, McNamara is quoted as saying:
People had no idea what the course was going to do for them. None. And most people were very, very uptight.[4].
