Talk:Rania al-Baz

I made a change to the recent events but do not know how to add a citation. If someone else does here is the address: http://arabnews.com/?page=1§ion=0&article=72221
Can someone explain why this article is POV, so editors can try and make it more NPOV.Bless sins 02:48, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. POV statements in this article: "The decrease in media attention caused the couple's relations to deteriorate," "Saudi authorities are known to serve the interests of men over women," "on Oprah in a show that was quite controversial," "she made unprecedented progress in Saudi courts," "in reality no woman, before Al-Baz, had ever pressed charges against her husband," "was unusually easy," and "she fought custody for." There also is the general issue of a lack of attribution. Please cite your sources by text block. Thanks, KazakhPol 02:56, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
We could remove the POV sticker, since no one has argued for it here ... however, I do think that there are several assertions there about the status of women in Saudi Arabia that could be construed as biased against the Saudis. I happen to believe that the regime oppresses women, BUT ... we have to be fair. Just turn statements about SA into statements about what many people believe about SA. That is, "SA oppresses women" should become "X, Y, and Z say that SA oppresses women", with references. Zora 02:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
The bulk of the article was written by me, and I apologise for not referencing it properly. I will do so to the best of my abilities and try and remove the NPOV statements KazakhPol has mentioned.Bless sins 03:07, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
