1) The official sanction of the Arbitration Committee is given to the indefinite block of Rainbowwarrior1977 (talk • contribs). [edit] It's a shame...
It's a shame about the Star Wars mediation falling apart. I think mediation would do the editors involved a lot of good, especially since not all of the disputes are between X vs. Copperchair. - A Man In Black (conspire | past ops) 00:32, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
- For the record, I'm perfectly willing to sign on to a mediation that all parties will agree to, but if and only if an agreement is reached that all parties will cease the behaviour that caused this mess in the first place. If five people say "sure thing" and one person continues revert-warring, that hasn't accomplished anything.--chris.lawson 01:28, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:TomsRiver.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:TomsRiver.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. RedWolf 03:11, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] could you check
Hi Red - I did a rather involved page move for Asperger's syndrome... I tried to follow the policy on it -
- Deleted the redirect page, moved the old page to the redirect page, and then restore the history of the redirect page
- Do #1 for the talk page too
- Move all the talk page archives normally one by one...
- Redirect the featured article candidate page to the old name version
Let me know if that was correct... seems to be ok :).
(Also, I'm going to thank you and everyone else here eventually :), today was just a long day. Besides, I did a several hour peer review of a page only to be accused of whining Wikipedia:Peer review/OpenBSD)

[edit] Q1werty
Q1werty was improperly blocked due to the fact that four administrators blocked this user infinitely four times. This is a minor notification that his block has been appropriately fixed. If it hasn't, then there's a bug in the MediaWiki system and should be reported. When I checked the logs on this person, I found that there were four infinite blocks on this user:
- 23:11, 10 October 2005 Rdsmith4 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Vandal)
- 23:24, 10 October 2005 Redwolf24 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Vandalisms!)
- 23:42, 10 October 2005 Katefan0 blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (Page move vandal)
- 09:48, 11 October 2005 The Anome blocked "User:Q1werty" with an expiry time of indefinite (vandalism-only user)
One thing I noticed is that there was no notice on this particular user's talk page stating the user was infinitely blocked. Anyway, just letting you know what happened. --AllyUnion (talk) 09:17, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

I know you saw my questions from earlier this week. I was hoping you would have responded by now -- I'm still puzzled over this whole fiasco. Is there any policy to blocking around here or not? I hope everything is going well otherwise.Shelburne Kismaayo 22:42, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] The Request for Comment
After reading these allegations and the community response to it, it appears that a real dispute is at hand. Essjay also (on my talk page) told me as much. I have tried to ask you twice about it, only to be ignored -- and I know you saw my comments. Therefore, I have no choice but to second the Request for Comment about your blocking actions. Since my signature was placed within 48 hours of the author's posting, its now offical. Please let us know your intentions. Regretfully,Shelburne Kismaayo 01:17, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

Hello,
I think I asked you this before but I don't know where the post went.
I was wondering why you deleted my article on Muscle Activation Technique?

[edit] Muscle Activation Technique (Cont'd)
Hello,
The fact that the "car comparison" occurs is a coincidence. I did not read the website from which I supposidly plagerised before writing the article:
http://www.muscleactivation.com/about.html
The other similarities should exist, it's an article describing a method of treatment. I should hope that my article is very similar to that of the official website, if not, my article would be wrong!

[edit] Juriwiki
Red:
I saw your question about Juriwiki in the RfM history: juriwiki is the (private) mailing list for questions regarding legal issues facing the Foundation. In my opinion, once something is handed off to juriwiki, I consider it to be tabled indefinitely until there is a response as to the legal issues. -- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Essjay (talk • contribs) 15:46, 13 October 2005 (UTC).

[edit] Mediation Committee
I was one of the original members of the committee, and there wasn't really any nomination process at the time. There was some sort of discussion on the mailing list, and I indicated an interest, and then Jimbo e-mailed me, and then I was on the committee. It wasn't really very formal at the time -- I honestly have little recollection of how I came to be chair. I think there was no chair for awhile, and then some discussion about possibly having one, and someone suggested me and I agreed, and then that was that. Tuf-Kat 03:55, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Arbitration / Moderation of Landmark page?
Hi RedWolf24
I recently contacted Uncle Ed regarding the ongoing edit war on the Landmark Education page. He suggested I ask you. My commitment is that the page should provide an authoratitive, useful and honest account of the organisation and its activities (including the ongoing accusations and counter-claims) which conforms to the NPOV policies. My own position is that I did the Landmark Forum about three years ago and found it useful. I have a lot of good friends who rate it highly. The organisation does have its faults, but my assesment of the criticism is that most of it is over the top and either misinformed or deliberately malicious. I do not work for Landmark and am not currently doing any of their programs.
Would you be prepared to take a quick look at the article, the recent history, and the most recent few sections on the discussion page (at the bottom)? I would appreciate your advice.
If you do feel that either arbitration or moderation woudl be appropriate, would you be prepared to be involved? If not, can you suggest anyone for me to ask?
thanks DaveApter 09:50, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I have to go to Canada and I won't be back for a few hours. When I get back I'll probably assign Improv to the case, so I'll leave a copy of this note on his talk page, and he can take over. Redwolf24 (talk—How's my driving?) 18:01, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
