Refilwe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Refilwe (We're blessed) is a township near Lanseria Airport, north of Johannesburg in Gauteng Province, South Africa. It was established in 1991 when Jean Stewart and Yvonne Jaques started primary health treatment in the corner of a small hall in the Drummond settlement, Lanseria. It was at this point that the Refilwe community project was born and has since grown into the current project attempting to address the diverse needs of the area surrounding the project.
The church of St. Michael's and All Angels in Newton, Wirral, England has an extensive link with the project and regularly sends parishioners to help with the project. The church's local school, Calday Grange Grammar also has a link and is sending a group of students to the project from the 29th June 2006.
