[edit] Controversy
Rig Up Explosive are the subject of much ill feeling in their hometown. This is due to a night in which Hawx (real name Ian Hawxwell) was caught in a compromising position with a 95-year-old man.
In April 2006, it was revealed that Rig Up Explosive had stolen several songs from a lesser known local group, The Pilgrims. This, combined with Joe James' arrest for date rape with Mike Hunt, led to the band being banned from almost all venues in South Cheshire, and later, the world.
[edit] Quotes
We are a change of pace, a fork in the road, a stain, a smear, a solution. To an industry that has become so over populated with imitation and so shamelessly blinded by what 'sells'. We will never conform to a scene, nor do we intend to create a scene to which others may conform to. We simply offer an escape route, an alternate path, a second choice. To draw your own map instead of following theirs. (February 2007)
