Robert Ursell, born December 7, 1982 in Granada, Spain is a football midfielder who currently plays for Southern League Division One South & West side Windsor & Eton F.C., who he joined in the summer of 2006 after being released from A.F.C. Wimbledon. He made his debut for Windsor & Eton against Abingdon United on September 9, 2006.
He started his career in the Spartan South Midlands Football League Premier Division with Harefield United in 2003. In his debut season for the Hares, he impressed clubs from higher divisions with his pace and skill and was snapped up by A.F.C. Wimbledon. He then spent two seasons with the Dons, before being released. Ursell got his nickname of "The Wizard" thanks to his great ball control and wide array of tricks used on the pitch. [1]
One of the highlights of his career came in the 2004-2005 season, when he was voted Player of the Round for the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round after scoring a hat-trick for A.F.C. Wimbledon against Dunstable Town.
He has been a lifelong supporter of Liverpool F.C. and his favourite players of all time are John Barnes and Ronaldinho. His favourite food is pizza and his favourite drink is Coca-Cola. His favoutite films are The Usual Suspects and Airplane!. [2]
He lists his all time heroes as Sacred Heart Hospital Administrator Dr. Kelso and the England cricketer Monty Panesar. There were widespread rumours that Robert would join the Barmy Army down under and support England during The Ashes, sporting a Monty Panesar beard. These rumours were declared as false when Robert was spotted on the London Underground's Central Line on New Years Eve, steaming.
