Ron Pederson

Ronald Pederson (born January 8, 1977) is a Canadian comedian and actor, best known for his starring role on the comedy sketch show MADtv, which he was a part of from 2002 until 2005. After he left the show, he went on to work on multiple theatre projects, including several new works with Teatro la Quindicina by renowned Canadian playwright Stewart Lemoine. He is the recipient of the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Ray in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, produced by the Citadel Theatre. He has often been seen in Canadian film and television projects such as the 2003 independent film Purple Gas. When visiting Canada, he still occasionally performs at the Varscona Theatre in his hometown of Edmonton in the live improvised soap-opera Die-Nasty. He is a member of the comedy troupe Gordon's Big Bald Head, was a regular on the improvised variety show Oh Susanna! and has worked closely with Rapid Fire Theatre. Ron has also done comedy sketches for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Pederson joined the cast of MADtv in season 8 (2002-03). At that time, he created memorable characters such as ambiguously gay Abercrombie & Fitch model Carpenter, irritable 7 A.M. Condo Report host Clifford Bussley, and Aussie salesman Roland Backinson. He also became renowned for his offbeat impersonations of Clay Aiken, Dave Foley, John Edwards, and Woody Allen.
