Roshumba Williams (born August 1, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, USA) is a succesful African American model. She has also explored acting and TV journalism. In 1999, Williams published her first book entitled "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being a Model".
As a model, Roshumba is famous for her appearance in the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
She was discovered in Paris by the legendary fashion designer Yves St. Laurent and quickly became a regular fixture on the World's runways.
Her trademark is her short natural hairstyle. In an industry where wigs and hair pieces (especially for Black models) are part of daily life, Roshumba insisted on wearing her hair short and more importantly natural.
Roshumba means "beautiful" in Swahili; her father gave her this name as a reminder of her African heritage.
In 1992, Williams was married to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actor Gary Dourdan. They divorced in 1994 after two years of marriage.
