[edit] Requested move
An administrator should rename this article to "S60", leaving behind a redirect, as the product name has changed.
- As stated above, this article should most probably be titled either "Symbian Series 60", "S60" or some variant thereof. Leaving out the "Nokia", since not only Nokia have Series 60-based mobiles. -ribrsiq
Nokia S60 → S60 … Rationale: S60 is the real name of that piece of software, Nokia S60 is not a valid name. … Please share your opinion at Talk:Nokia S60. —Silvestre Zabala 20:35, 26 June 2006 (UTC) Withdrawn, see discussion. --User:Silvestre Zabala 20:25, 28 June 2006 (UTC) - copied from the entry on the WP:RM page

Support: Yes, S60 should be the name. You've convinced me: Rename to S60 Platform. --Silvestre Zabala 20:02, 28 June 2006 (UTC)- Please will you rename this to S60 Platform (the product name), rather than S60 platform. Xaje 10:24, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- Rename to Symbian S60 70.51.10.221 04:35, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose. An existing dab page was changed to a redirect. There are many items that use S60 including a Volvo car and a Cannon camera. The disambig page should stay where it is. Don't really know what this article should be renamed to, but S60 (software) might be the best choice. Vegaswikian 20:07, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose. Nokia (the licensee) calls this the S60 Platform on the Nokia Forum, but it is also sometimes referred to as the Series 60 Platform. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xaje (talk • contribs) 15:14, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Discussion
- Add any additional comments
- I have also proposed a merge to Nokia S60 and Symbian OS which appears to be the more complete of the articles about this. If this article remains, then it should be renamed as above or to S60 (platform) or S60 platform which seems to be the more common term used to describe this product. Vegaswikian 20:36, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

- Strong Oppose. Detailed infomation of S60 and Symbian OS version numbers has been removed from Nokia S60 many times, so a new page was created to avoid yet another deletion of this hard-to-find valuable information (anyone attempting to download software for their S60 has to be aware of which version of Symbian OS their device uses due to compatability issues). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xaje (talk • contribs) 15:14, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] why 176 x 208?
Why display resolution is 176 x 208 it don't have 3:4 ratio (div by 16 it 11:13?!!!)
why not somthing like
- QQVGA 120 x 160 OR
- QQSVGA 150 x 200 OR
- QQXGA 192 x 256 OR
- 180 x 240 (this one nice)
- or even QVGA like PPC 240 x 320
Reply to above: Many higher-resolution phones are now out (April 2006), and no doubt the resolutions will continue to improve.

Question: Are all images from S60 devices copyright (including images of standard S60 icons), or can a screen dump of someone's personal device be used?
