Sabr (Islamic term)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sabr is the Arabic word for patience, endurance and self-restraint. It can either refer to patience in a situation, or patience with others, including malicious intent. It can also be translated as "patience in the face of adversary," and faith in God despite trials and temptations.
In an Islamic context, sabr will refer to patience in establishing Islam in one's own life, and patience when met with criticism when spreading Islamic beliefs.
