Saint-Georges-de-Beauce is a city in Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
The population is 29,271 (2001 census). St-Georges is an important manufacturing center, including textiles, steel forgings, bicycles and truck trailers. One of the draw to this city is also the wide array of local and national retailers and restaurants. Route 173 runs through St-Georges Est (also known as Boulevard Lacroix) and heads south to the border with Maine, USA. Quebec Highway 73 should be extended up to the city within the next five years. As of March 2nd 2006, the mayor is Roger Carette.
The Beauce-Etchemin School Board (Commission scolaire de la Beauce-Etchemin) has its headquarters at 118th Street in the town.
In 2002 it amalgamated with Saint-Georges-Est (pop. 4,110), Aubert-Gallion (pop. 2,444) and Saint-Jean-de-la-Lande (pop. 786).
It is home to one of the few inflatable dams in Canada, introduced to raise the level of the water of the Chaudière River in order to promote water-based activities and to make the riverside more attractive.
St-Georges is also the headquarters of the intercity bus company Autocars La Chaudière which provides bus service in the Beauce Region to Quebec City with connections to the rest of Canada
