Samuel Bourne

Samuel Bourne (1834–24 April 1912) was a British photographer known for his work in India. He was born in Market Drayton, and lived in Nottingham.
From 1862 to 1869 Bourne lived and worked in India, with his printer Charles Shepherd. His photography ranges all over the country and into some of its remotest parts. His studio, Bourne & Shepherd, continues to operate in Calcutta. He is best-known for his photography of the British Raj, and has become one of the best-known photographers of India.
