Okay, we needed material I'm not quite sure we needed an Irish republican diatribe...have edited the most blatantly p.o.v. comments out, but left the eye witness account in there - others may disagree with teh article being taken over by this account, but it is interesting - does need to be referenced though, (at the time, these barbaric floggings were standard practise in the Royal Navy and British Army).Winstonwolfe 04:40, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
