Sandy Olsson

Sandy Olsson is a fictional character in the movie Grease, which is a film adaptation of the stage musical, Grease. The character of the film was played by Olivia Newton-John, and was markedly different from Sandra Dumbrowski, the character of the stage musical upon which she is based. She came from Australia, while the character in the stage musical was an American citizen of Polish extraction. She first met Danny Zuko, at the beach, she said that she must return to Australia, but she ends up falling in love with him. Instead of returning to Australia, her plans were changed and she attended at Rydell High School as an exchange student.
Outside the house, at night, by herself, she made up the song, "Hopelessly Devoted to You", and when she looked in the small pool that inflates, she reflects herself and thinks about Danny, and when she moves the paper cloth across the surface, Danny disappears from her reflection. In the end, she and Danny flew away from the carnival at Rydell High in the arms of the car, turning the film into a fantasy. She does not appear in the film Grease 2.
