[edit] Content Update
I plan on making several revisions to the content of this page over the weekend. I will add more information, correct existing content, and flesh out the history. I am considering adding material related to fares and connecting services, as Wikipedia appears to do so in other metropolitan areas, but I am somewhat hesitant to clutter the page. (San Diego MTS is a mostly integrated system anyway.) I can prepare a network schematic in Illustrator/Photoshop at a later date if demand is strong. Suggestions welcome. -DavDaven 08:25, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Station History
I've updated existing page content and added a history component. Does anyone know when the San Diego Square station (C Street between 7th and 8th Avenues) closed? Also, can someone verify the Bayfront/E Street station opened in 1985, and not early 1986? -DavDaven 05:26, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
Before the Euclid Line (Now Orange Line) Opened to Euclid, trains ran on the south track between San Diego Square and the original Sante Fe stop. I am 99% sure that San Diego Square closed the day that trains to Euclid started to run. --Jmohler1970 16:48, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] First modern light rail in California?
First modern light rail in California? The Muni Metro article says it added a new light rail line, underneath Market Street, a year before the San Diego Trolley was inaugurated. -- Geo Swan 12:19, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
Not exactly first modern light rail It is true to say that Muni Metro subway opened before the San Diego Trolley. N-Judah was the first line, but only about a third of it was (and is) underground. The rest of the line operated like a turn of the century streetcar line.
BART had already been operating under Market Street for about six years. The rest of N-Judah dates from 1928. So the "wow this is new" factor was largely not there. --Jmohler1970 16:49, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Monorails?
Why is that even brought up? Unless there is a real agency or company proposing it with real funding and real EIR, it should not be mentioned. The text with monorails should be removed.
