Senas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Senas is an open source search engine created from scratch in Perl.
Senas was created, and is currently maintained, by Jason Whitehorn as an undergraduate in Computer Science. Originally intended to Index BitTorrents, Senas was reengineered to index the entire Internet. The source code for Senas was released under the GNU GPL in the summer of 2005, making it free software.
The project is hosted at Sourceforge, where the complete source code can be downloaded. Jason Whitehorn privately maintains a demonstration of the search engine’s abilities.
The search engine utilizes an open ranking algorithm based on Radiographic techniques used in Computer Graphics.
