[edit] Parajanov vs. Paradzhanov
I see about 500 Googles for Parajanov and about 20000 for Paradzhanov. In the interests of accessibility I suggest changing the name in Wikipedia to match the generally used one. Martin Cleaver 09:03, 31 December 2006
- Not from what I see. "Parajanov", besides making more sense (the sound of "dzh" is equivalent to the sound of "j"), is the more widely used of the two. 56,100 to 19,800. 21,400 to 768. 1610 to 622. However you look at it. Esn 09:00, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Parajanov in prison
Parajanov was sentenced for his homosexuality - why is this side-stepped in the article? He himself referred to this as being convicted "for raping a Communist party member" - this was hardly a setup by the authorities, as the article tries to paint. Moreover, he was again sentenced in 1982 for a year for bribery - why is this left out? Parajanov.com mentiones the second conviction in his bio, and the truth about the first one is all over the sources on the guy.
Don't denigrate Parajanov by lying about him. He was a homosexual and briber, there is nothing to be ashamed about in that.
