Shakespeare schools festival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Shakespeare Schools Festival is a registered charity that enables school children aged 11 - 16 to perform abridged versions of Shakespeare's plays all over the United Kingdom. It began in 2000 as a regional pilot before expanding to a nation wide event.
In 2007 it will launch two new projects the Shakespeare Youth Festival; a project for 16-21 year olds encouraging them to set-up their own theatre company to produce a play and Shakespeare 24; a 24 hour worldwide performance day.
