Shimmer (also known as Selinda Flinders) is a fictional villain from DC Comics, created by George Perez and Marv Wolfman. She first appeared in New Teen Titans #3 (January 1980) as one of the founding members of the Fearsome Five after answering an advert in the Underworld Star placed by Doctor Light, who was looking to establish his own villain team, and so became enemy of the Teen Titans, Superman, and the Outsiders. She is Australian by birth, and has a brother named Baran (aka Mammoth), also a founding member of the Fearsome Five. Mammoth is not overly bright but is completely loyal and protective towards his sister, so Shimmer acted as the brains for both of them. She was originally motivated only by money, not caring about Light's vendetta against the Titans. Clad in a revealing Goth-like black leather outfit, thanks to the work of Doctor Helga Jace, she has the superhuman ability to temporarily transmute any element or compound into any other.
