Shirur or Shiroor is a village in Udupi district (previously South Canara) in the Indian state of Karnataka. The national highway number 17( NH-17 ) connecting Panvel (Near Mumbai) to Eranakulam passes through this village.
Shirur is the headquarters of one of the eight Mutts belonging to the Dvaita school of Hindu philosophy, founded by Sri Madhvacharya
