Oppose merge of steel into this. This very brief article might perhaps be merged into steel. However Siderurgy is not a usual English term, but the transliteration of a French one. The best solution would be to leave this brief article to explain the term, with suitable cross-references to articles on iron and steel. Peterkingiron 01:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
I have removed the 'merge' tag for the reasons stated above. Having another major article on herrous metallurgy will only lead to duplication and contrdictory articles. Peterkingiron 15:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Wrong Etym
It's not from Latin 'sidus' (star), but from Greek 'sideros' (iron)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
