Talk:Sigma Sigma Rho

Can we get rid of the first person? This is an encyclopedia.--Theloniouszen 06:38, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)
This was not a copyright violation as the material I was submitting belongs to the organization I am a member of also.
Copyright is not the issue. This can not be written in the first person. If it is, it should be deleted as an advertisement. It can not say "our organization" does this, and so forth, because this is not Wikipedia's organization. Look at some other fraternity/sorority articles to see how they should be written. -- BD2412 talk 15:25, 2005 Jun 6 (UTC)
Just because you are a member of the organization does not mean you have the right to grant license for the material. That can only be granted by the organization itself, not one of its memebers. --Xcali 15:40, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- The text as presented was unacceptable anyway - syntactically sloppy, POV, written in the first person voice, containing unencyclopedic commentary and lacking encyclopedic information. A properly written article would presumably also not be a copyvio. -- BD2412 talk 16:46, 2005 Jun 6 (UTC)
- The page has been rewritten.
[edit] Recent Edits (oct 2006)
For one a talk page should never be blanked unless the only content has been vandalism, and even then it's debatable. Given the fact that this page had a legitimate discussion on here it's unacceptable so I'm reverting the talk page. The second item I want to address is that I've added the tone tag to this article. It's all right over all but it could be cleaned up, additionally some of the items come really close to copyvio, then again (ex. Rho defines remembrance) for a 2 sentence description there's not a whole lot of rewriting that can be done to make it sound completely different. --ImmortalGoddezz 15:44, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
