Silent Diner is a rock and roll band from Allston, Massachusetts. The band consists of three permanent members: Matthew Davis (bass), Tolga Sursal (keyboards), and Christopher Graffeo (drums and percussion). Anderson Gould, the original guitar player, left the band in October of 2006.

Silent Diner is a musical collective comprised of Matthew Davis, Christopher Graffeo and Tolga Sursal. They have recently relocated to Allston, Massachusetts from Charlottesville Virginia, where they are continuing to write and perform original music while building a dedicated following.

Silent Diner's music is foremost experimental and personal. The group is committed to working towards the artistic projects of progress and innovation by challenging their own boundaries and those containing contemporary music. Their individual and communal influences span the breadth of contemporary, classical, and world musics. While the band finds itself situated in the context of rock and roll, their output draws as readily from rock and the blues as it does from the Western classical canon, electronic and computer music, and the rhythmic traditions of Ghana and Togo or North Indian classical music.

Song writing and performance are expressions of the four musician's personalities coming together in synergy. Their identities as much as their instruments enable them to strive towards new and relevant artistic statements, and their composition and performance are defined by the collaboration between deliberate structure and inspired improvisation.

Silent Diner shows are unpredictable moments that thrive on ephemerality, together presenting a sequence of transient experiences that are at once unique and interconnected. Performances center about Silent Diner's music and its dualistic role as the creative expression of four individuals and their communion with one another and the audience-participants.
