Sir William Blackett, 1st Baronet, of Matfen

Sir William Blackett, 1st Baronet (1620 – 16 May 1680) of Newcastle was the son of William Blacket of Hoppyland, Durham, and was created a Baronet on 12 December 1673.
He was High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1660.
He was Governor of the Hostmen Company of Newcastle 1662–1663 and 1667–1668. He was an Alderman of the City of Newcastle and Mayor of the City in 1666.
He was Member of Parliament for Newcastle-upon-Tyne 1673–1680.
He married Elizabeth Kirkley in 1645 and was succeeded by their son Edward.
