[edit] Actually
"The skunk ape is a type of cryptid that is often considered a type of bigfoot, but is actually a pongid, or great ape. They are often reported to be similar to an orangutan or a gorilla. They are also known as Napes." How can something "actually" be said about a cryptid?
[edit] Orangutans
"Orangutans in captivity test higher on cognitive skills tests than all other hominids save man"
while i do not deny gorillas are the least intelligent great ape, what about chimps or bonobos?

- I don't think our anonymous friend will derive much informed discussion from this particular site. Look carefully at the photograph. That's the level of actual information that can be got out of this sophmoric hoax. Wetman 17:07, 3 Feb 2004 (UTC)
That's an orangutan. Compare the photo. Even without having seen a picture of an orangutan in a long time, I could pretty easily pick it out.

[edit] NOT a Bigfoot
Because Skunk Apes are NOT a local variety of Bigfoot, I changed the wordings. Maggie 03:17, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reverted vandalism
The skunk ape is no longer a myth. He has been caught and caged by three younge men in eastern Idaho. The MPC manged to subdue the raging beast with bare hands and hand made weaponds. This beast will be tamed and trained to perform everyday tasks. ex. mowing the lawn, washing cars, and moving large boxes.
Someone can move that to humourous if they please --68.161.112.187 05:04, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Trust me...Skunkape is ALIVE and his name is actually STUART. WATCH OUT FOR THIS, I'M VERY SERIOUS FOLKS!

[edit] REMOVE THIS.

[edit] State of the article
This article is very scrappy. Lots of bits chucked in any old where, unsupported assertions, POVs, OR etc. It needs a lot of work to get up to scratch (if you will). Totnesmartin 14:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] How big?
New bit in ape section: "Though this seems unlikely due to the reported size of the creature." The article doesn't actually say how big the skunk ape is. So, do tell, someone. Totnesmartin 15:26, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] December 2006 cleanup
