Social Development Unit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Social Development Unit (SDU) is one of the main matchmaking organisations in Singapore. It was established in 1984, aiming to change the cultural and social mindsets that continue to stand in the way of graduates getting married in Singapore society. As of 2006, more than 33,000 SDU members had been married because of the help they received from this organisation.
[edit] Trivia
As a joke among locals, SDU has been referred to as "single, desperate and unwanted (or ugly)".
