The following is a listing of Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League Standings.
The Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League was a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey league based out of Southwestern Ontario, the Greater Toronto Area, Golden Horseshoe, Michigan, and New York. The league originated as the Western Ontario Junior B Hockey League in 1956 when the Big 10 Junior B Hockey League divided into two leagues.
When the Western Ontario Junior B Hockey League went renegade in 1968, it declared itself a Junior "A" hockey league. Not affiliated with the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association, the league went on for two seasons as a self sanctioned league. In 1970, what eventually became the Ontario Hockey League pulled away from the Ontario Hockey Association, leaving it without a premier league. The OHA went into talks with the Western league and in the end, the league returned to the OHA and changed its name to the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League. The league lasted seven seasons. In 1972, the OHA created the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League as a competitor to the SOJAHL. By 1976, the league had dropped down to four teams and at the end of the season was divided up between other leagues.

For this season, the WOJAHL agreed to a National Championship series between their champions and that of the Western Canada Hockey League. The Flin Flon Bombers (WCHL) ended up sweeping the St. Thomas Barons, winning the first three games of the series after which the Barons forfeited the fourth game during the second period. The reason given for the forfeit was allegations of dangerously violent play by the Bombers. The series starred Bobby Clarke for Flin Flon and Ken Murray for the Barons.
